Towards evidence-informed policy in childhood disability: Exploring inter-relationships between International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) domains among children with neurodevelopmental disorders and disabilities
This project aims to define and operationalize disability and its relationship to other domains and indicators of health as applied to the organization of clinical services, research and policy. The project employs secondary analysis of a Canadian national disability data set (Participation and Activity Limitations Survey, PALS 2006) in order to examine childrens' diagnosis status (specifically, presence or absence of a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder) in relation to functional status, and to model the relative contribution of each of these health 'components' to child participation and family well-being.
