Developmental Coordination Disorder: Survey of Pediatric Occupational Therapists in British Columbia

The overall goal of this project is to conduct an environmental scan of the occupational therapy services (or lack thereof) for preschool and school-age children with developmental coordination disorder (DCD) in British Columbia. To meet this goal, we have three specific aims:

  1. to determine occupational therapists' awareness of developmental coordination disorder;
  2. to determine if and how therapists are involved in facilitating a diagnosis of DCD;
  3. to determine what services, if any, are provided for children with DCD, including type, frequency, duration, and location of intervention.

Results of this survey will highlight current awareness and service delivery of occupational therapists working with children with DCD and will inform future directions for improving services for this population.
