Brain Development and Motor Outcomes of Premature Infants

Together with principal investigators, Dr. Steven Miller (neonatal neurologist, University of Toronto/Hospital for Sick Children) and Dr. Ruth Grunau (developmental psychologist, UBC/BC Children's and Women's Health Centre), Dr. Zwicker is examining, in a large cohort of premature infants serially scanned with MRI in the neonatal period, motor outcomes throughout childhood. She is particularly interested in determining brain biomarkers and clinical risk factors for DCD in this high-risk population. This project is conducted in collaboration with the Neonatal Follow-Up Program at BC Women's Hospital.
